ASHA – Ambulance Services for Highway Accidents

Highway accidents is the second largest killer in India after Tuberculosis (T.B.). To provide immediate medical assistance to the victims of highway accidents 3 Ambulances were detailed on National Highway No.3 between Bhiwandi and Nasik, and 2 Ambulances on National Highway No.8 between Ghodbunder to Talasari. 2 Ambulances on NH 7 in Jalgaon Dist., 1 in Bubaneswar, Orissa & 1 in Jalana Dist. Total calls attended 1625 and lives saved 2831. This Project has been discontinued from 01.06.2007 for want of Funds, which is regretted.
